An historic space gets a modern makeover.
Interior design of residence. This 1896 loft features exposed brick, cedar beams and cast iron fixtures. I remodeled the space to expand functionality by adding private rooms separated by sliding translucent glass doors. Indigenous limestone was chosen for the central eight-foot kitchen island, stone hearth and window sills. Reclaimed timber was used for the mantel and incorporated throughout; for closet shelving and kitchen shelving. The two-story living area features a modern chandelier and can be viewed from the sliding translucent window in the upstairs bedroom. Custom forged stained glass bannister railings on the stairs match the guard railing on the second level.
